The
2013 Butte Farmers' Market will return in full bloom in Uptown Butte for
20 weeks every Saturday through October 5th from 8:30 am to 1
pm beginning on Saturday, May 25th, 2013. Only craft vendors who
have paid for the full season will be allowed to participate
in the July 13th Butte Farmers' Market.
The 2013 market will be located in Uptown Butte as it has been
for the last decade and a half. The Market will be located on West Park Street between Gamer's Cafe and the Phoenix Building except for August 10th when it will be held on East Park Street to make way for the Montana Irish Festival. The Market Coordinator will be there there to help
vendors and customers find what they are looking for at the Saturday
morning summer event.
Since 1995, the Butte Farmers' Market has blossomed and grown,
earning a reputation for providing shoppers with colorful and
hardy hanging and bedding plants, farm fresh eggs, chickens,
fruits and vegetables from many gardens in the Butte area, Hutterite
colonies near Choteau, and Hmong vegetable gardens in the Missoula
and Bitteroot area.
Vendors provide a wide variety of baked goods, packaged sausages, fresh produce ands cut flowers, salsa,
and other prepared foods. A variety of arts and crafts by craftspeople
from throughout Southwest Montana are available each Saturday
as well.

We have specific rules and regulations that must be strictly
adhered to by all Farmers' Market customers.
1.) You must come prepared to enjoy yourself in the company of
others seeking out the finest in edible and ornamental plants,
crafts of all kinds and sundry fine products for the betterment
of all in the shade of Uptown Butte's tall buildings. Dancing
in the streets is permitted during the Butte Farmers' Market. However, please leave your pets at home.

MARKET RULES

The Butte
Farmers' Market caters to new, Montana-made and grown plants,
flowers, produce, baked goods, foods crafts and other unique
items.

- MARKET
SCHEDULE:
Saturdays 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. May 25 through October 5.
OPENING & CLOSING: The market will begin promptly
at 8:30 am. Vendors can begin
setting up as early as 6:30 am. If you need more than an hour for setup, please contact the Market Coordinator so special
arrangements can be made. Clean up must be completed by 1:30
pm. Vendors are responsible for cleaning their areas after the
market. Please make sure that you provide a trash bag for yourself and your customers.

- SPACE ASSIGNMENTS: Space can be prepaid in advance or on the morning of the market. While every effort will be made to place you in your preferred location, all spaces will be assigned by the Market Coordinator. There are no reserved spots for anyone. You must check in with the Market Coordinator to be assigned your space. No vehicles are allowed in the market area after 8:20 except for those assigned to vehicle spaces.
The non-refundable fee must accompany the application form. If you vend from your vehicle, you cannot move it until the market closes.

- VENDOR
INFORMATION: The Market Coordinator will keep a file of all vendors with name, address, and phone number and product type. The Health Department also requires that all food vendors sign a Temporary Food Service Registration form, which can be obtained by calling the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department at 406-497-5020 or stopping by 25 W. Front Street. Commercial vendors must provide a copy of their food purveyor and/or appropriate business licenses at the first market they attend. Vendors must display plainly visible identification and items should be labeled with vendor name, address and phone number. If you are selling prepared food items, you must include the date made as well. If you are selling prepared food items made by someone else, a list of ingredients must be included.

- VENDOR
APPLICATION & PAYMENT: To apply for a space in advance, Vendor
Reservation Form and payment must be received by Wednesday of
the week before the desired Saturday market. All other vendors
must pay the Market Master on market day.

- FEE SCHEDULE: Our market vendor fees fund the operation
of the market. The following is the fee schedule for the 2013
season. We offer a substantial season fee discount to vendors
who plan to attend every week. For the season fee, a vendor
gets admission to 20 markets for the price of 10. This year,
too, only craft vendors who have paid the season fee will be
allowed to participate in the July 13th Farmers' Market.

SALES ITEMS:
The market will cater to new, high quality Montana homemade and
homegrown products and craft items. The following list offers examples and may be
expanded at the discretion of the Market Coordinator:
Produce - fresh or dried fruits, herbs, vegetables, nuts,
berries, sprouts or grains. Products must be clean and fresh,
on tables, truck beds or tailgates or, if place on the ground,
must be in boxes or baskets.
Miscellaneous - flowers, bouquets, plants, shrubs, trees,
unprocessed honey, baked goods, preserves and handmade crafts.
Baked goods and preserves must be labeled with producer's name,
address, phone number and date made. Items should also include
a list of ingredients.
UNALLOWABLE SALES ITEMS: No Kool-Aid, lemonade, or other
drinks made from water at home. Fresh or frozen meats
and poultry can only be sold if inspected and approved by meat
inspectors. No garage, rummage or estate sale items allowed.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED ON THE MARKET SITE FOR
SALE OR CONSUMPTION. PLEASE DON'T BRING PETS OR ANIMALS TO THE MARKET
(WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SEEING EYE DOGS). PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW
CHILDREN TO WANDER WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION. ALL PROBLEMS
AND CONFLICTS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE MARKET MASTER WHO WILL
HAVE THE FINAL SAY IN CONFLICTS OR DISPUTES.
MOST IMPORTANT RULE IS THE GOLDEN RULE: ALL PROBLEMS AND CONFLICTS MUST BE RESOLVED BY THE MARKET COORDINATOR. VENDORS SHOULD NOT SPEAK TO OTHER VENDORS EXCEPT FOR CONVERSATION OR GREETINGS. IF THERE IS AN ISSUE, BRING IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE MARKET COORDINATOR IMMEDIATELY FOR RESOLUTION. ANY VENDOR ENGAGED IN A DISPUTE WITHOUT THE MARKET COORDINATOR, MAY BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE MARKET REGARDLESS OF WHO IS AT FAULT. ANYONE WHO ENGAGES IN ABUSIVE, BELLIGERENT OR OTHERWISE DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR TOWARD ANYONE ELSE WILL BE INVITED TO LEAVE AND NOT RETURN AND ALL FEES WILL BE FORFEITED. ________________________________________________________________________________________
